requires the two boys joining hands to capture someone when the whistle blows it seems they were successful this time around free stringband concert at latcham next thursday one of canadas fastest rising folk singing groups stringband will be playing in the area next week at a free concert the group of toronto based folk musicians composers and singers who have toured canada from vancouver to the maritimes will be ap pearing thursday november 24 at 8 pm at latcham hall stouff- ville on behalf of the whitchurch stouffville public library the performance is sponsored by the local library and the central ontario regional library system with grants from the ministry of culture and recreation and the ontario arts council headed by bob bossin and marie lynn hammond both of whom sing write songs and play guitar and banjo stringband is also made up of fiddler terry king and bass player al soberman the groups first album canadian sunset was produced virtually underground but sold well at performances gigs and at some outlets across the country but its second album national melodies featuring the popular hit dief will be chief again has received substantial acclaim across the country stringband has ap peared on the ian tyson show ws the george hamilton show canada am the john allan cameron show weekday and other television shows and has also made numerous radio ap pearances we asked to par ticipate each new beaver was presented with the book friends of the forest on which the beaver theme is based as a memento of the oc casion from the parents group committee after which
