license and was presented with his wings last saturday evening march 5 at a banquet in the oshawa flying club brian soloed when he was 16 but could not get his wings until he was 17 his proud parents is disbanding j-jv- stouffville six years after its in- ception century city mortgage holders association has voted to disband a dinner and dance held at- goodwood community centre friday evening february 18 brought to a con clusion the need for the association seventyfive mem bers of the association and their immediate families joined together to make a presentation to- chairman grant drewery of stouffville and secretary edna meyers of uxbridge they were each given a beautiful wall clock in appreciation of thir efforts during the long litigation proceedings it was in january 1971 that 44 affected people determined the necessity to combine their efforts to bring joint action against century city developments limited who were then in default of their mortgage payments it was riot until december 9 1976 that the law- firms of shibley righton and mccutcheon and cassels brock both of toronto were finally able to bring to a suc cessful conclusion their actions in respect to the mortgages representing the association members were- the renowned litigatidff lawyers richard shibley and pierre genest along with their junior partners alan bromstein and john day during the 6 year period lawyers barry wortzman and thomas ricketts also worked on the case early in the proceedings donald hindson of cattanagh and hindson of markham assisted he and john day were guests at the dinner party shibley and genest sent their regrets in february 1971 a committee was formed to act on behalf of the association members between meetings sitting on the committee were grant drewery chair man norman last friday night barbara pegg janet crawford rita fisher marion young mrs stell mary martin and mildred mctaggart attended the summary day for the quilting course and displayed articles made at trinity united church in uxbridge last wed nesday
