ll i0 i5v j j town of markham snow ice control program for the winter of 1976 1977 the town of markhams snow and ice control program has been designed to achieve the following objectives to provide a reasonable degree of maintenance as effectively as possible with available funds to reduce economic losses to the community and industry- caused by workers not being able to get to their jobs on time to facilitate the handling of emergen- cies by fire and police officials to maintain safe passable school transit bus routes street priorities in the town of markham there are approximately 175 miles not all of these streets need to be maintained in the winter in fact the available funds do not permit the same degree of degree of winter maintenance effort will vary in ticular street plays in the total transportation network all classified as follows these streets will receive first serve as major traffic routes primary top priority shown in red these streets will receive they collect traffic from local the top priority streets these streets will be plowed streets have been serviced if exceeds 3 note sand will be only at dangerous spots when when absolutely necessary- roads of other authorities these roads and streets are dashco uincs region of york or ministry of secondary second priority shown in black local streets white
