bogarttown school which has echoed to child rens voices for over a century is silent but not for long no more desks and blackboards no more readin ritin n rithme- tic but learning of a diff erent kind the little red school- house will soon become the whitchurch township museum township coun cil is acquiring the proper ty and has appointed a museum board the presi dent is henry nauta originally ss no 3 was located on the se corner of what was then the haight farm this was burned down in 1856 and the present building erect ed in 1857 with such speed and efficiency that the children lost little school time it was also built so well that when ex cavations were being made for a basement nearly 80 years later a landslide caved in the foundation along the entire north wall without doing any damage to the wall itself land for this school was bought from francis starr and mr taylor francis starr was the first teacher at bogarttown for which he was paid 34468 per year after teaching sev eral years he was elected trustee and served as sec retarytrustee for twenty- one years until his retire ment in 1887 when he was presented with an easy chair as a token of grati tude for long years n left cedar grove saturday to live near chesley an old stone farmhouse won their hearts this summer and plans for its renovation and decoration will take top priority for quite a while both lloyd and olive have contributed so generously to cedar grove it is hard to imag ine this little hamlet with out them there are chil dren whose first introduc tion to music was a piano lesson from olive and her understanding of growing up coupled with a quick humor made her a very popular leader in cgit work she played the org an at zion church and was always a willing ac companist at sunday the annual
