pastor close bethesda church from the ministers study by v g shillington words that seem to fit the arrival of the new year in the lives of many people are inven tory resolution and planning the first and last of these have become the passwords of our age i sometimes wonder when we are going to start living again a year speeds away as fast as our highpow ered cars and we miss the sights on the way even marriage and birth are so well planned that the glow and mystery of life have depart ed the scene whats left a cold factual sched ule dont get me wrong i am all for a schedule but the right kind yes that is my point this week when or maybe i should say if you take that middle word i used resolution and you decide to do something about it this year make the resolutions realistic if you heap resolution upon resolution and then seek to fit them into a notch in your life you too will become caught up in the grizzly trend of frantic ambition the result half of the stuff you plan comes out like a dirty wash because the machine is over loaded leave room for stargazing reminiscing me andering call it what you like but leave room for it would you like to know the one resolution i am making this year i am calling it the a and p resolution no its not a commercial the appointments and promises resolution means simply this if i make an appointment i should keep it otherwise i should not make it if i make a promise i should fulfill it otherwise i should not make it this is a real problem with people dont you think i guess some of my friends will say after reading this that v g shillington whoever he is did not offer much christian doctrine this week wait just a minute did christ keep his appointments and promises yes every last one now i want to wish every last reader a happy new year but i am not going to promise one j concert well attended by vera leach ashburn there was an excellent attendance at the christmas concert held dec 23 in the new sunday school hall rev
