missionary church it marked the opening and dedication of their new sanctuary to serve the needs of pn ever growing membership in a continually gi owing com munity the seating accommoda tion in excess ot 400 was not sufficient to cope with the crowd many travel ling long distances to at tend the offering in aid of the building kind ex ceeded s2000 for the majority pres ent on sunday the com pletion of the church proj ect is the result ol much dedicated service physi cal and financial volun teers worked into the late hours of saturday night to have everything in readiness for sunday morning and it was even lo the laying of the sod and the paving of the drive faith is truly a wonderful thing said one member seriously but two days ago the task ap peared impossible it was timely that the official dedication of the new church should fall on the 65th anniversary of the opening of the first sanctuary then known as mennonite brethren in christ that was in 1903 since then eighteen pas tors have occupied the pulpit including the pres ent minister rev john hamilton may this church ever be a place where people from all walks of life can enter and find a welcome he said let us this day re- dedicate ourselves to the fulfilling of the great commission through the power of our risen lord the act of dedication was performed by rev ward m shantz district superintendent of the on tario conference the ded ication message was brought by dr kenneth geiger general superin tendent of the missionary church with headquarters in elkhart indiana for mer pastors rev harvey hallman now of
