cherrywood june 18 in his 59th year he was the son of the late charles laughlin and the late mary lotton born july 11 1909 south of cherrywood except for a few years in early boyhood in western canada he spent his lifetime in this district in june 1927 he joined the brougham ioof lodge went through the chair was secretary for twentyone years and at his death was chaplain of the lodge he was a highly respected active worker in the community and a faith ful member of the united church also a choir mem ber and elder in the church for several years he had served as trustee of the local public school board on october 31 1942 he married mary jane tool of whitevale mr laughlin helped farm in his early years and in 1944 was em ployed as sectionman by the canadian pacific rail ways at cherrywood which position he occupied until his death he also enjoyed the finer ways of life hold ing membership in the pickering horticultural so ciety for a number of years the funeral took place on friday june 21 from mceachnie funeral home pickering with interment at erskine cemetery rev g b mcneill officiated pallbearers were wm- hoi- sunday school picnic by lillian jamleson balsommt zion the
