lloyd turner town assessor twelve years stouffville this town and community lost one of its most active longtime residents nov 8 in the sudden passing of mr lloyd turner lloyd avenue stouffville mr turner died suddenly while eating a noon- clay meal in toronto he had gone to the city ac companied by a close friend harry stouffer second street he was 76 mr turner was active in almost every phase of village life he bacame best known for his work as town assessor a position he held with pride for a period of twelve years later he became part of the york county staff when assessment on a local basis was dissolved he had been retired for the past 1 months in addition to his knowledge of assessment matters mr turner once excelled as an expert horse plowman and many trophies in his home i signified his ability in o- at vj- district matches he was p rv- ll3 a p president of the markham fair board and the holstein fresian association he was a member of the richard son masonic lodge the stouffville lions club and the stouffville arena board he had also serv ed as a trustee on the stouffville public school board mr turner was born al mongolia the son ot mr and mrs john turner on march 16 1916 he was married to delia mowder and the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year they were honored by more than 200 visitors at that time since coming to stouffville mr turner took an active interest in hockey especially among the young boys he maintained the individual scoring records for several seasons and was honored by the lions club through the presentation of an engraved plaque only the day before he died he operated the time clock at a junior game several of the beautiful bouquets of flowers at the oneill chapel were from stouffville hockey clubs mr turner was a member of the stouffville united church the service saturday was con ducted by rev alan borland assisted by rev douglas davis hundreds of friends and neighbors called to pay their coroner dr blair mitchell of stouffville assist ed by deputychief robert hood pathologist dr donald guthrie of york cen tral hospital said that the victims lungs were lacerated due to multiple rib fractures he said too that blood from the mans mouth had entered his respiratory tract hindering his breathing dr guthrie described how either injury or a combina tion of both could have caused the mans death the pathologist informed the jury that a blood sample taken from mr mustard showed an alco hol content of 16 per thousand sufficient to ren der him impaired he said the condition of the victims liver indicated an excessive use of alcohol over a period of time dr james scott of markham the family phys ician said mr mustard had undergone treatment for a gall bladder condition and arrangements had been made for surgery came at me mrs jacqueline milne rr 1 unionville the driver of the other car described in a written statement how the death car had veered to the south side of
