school teacher 30 years victoria square a longtime respected res ident of victoria square passed away in the person of louis l nichols thurs day sept 28 1967 mr nichols was born april 1883 at victoria square the oldest of a family of four of wm franklin nichols and mary ann lundy he lived his entire life in this com munity his last residence was on the farm at lot 24 where his son cecil now lives a farm which had been in the family for sixty years mr nichols graduated from the toronto normal school in 1905 and spent more than 30 years teach ing in three neighboring schools ss no 4 ss no 5 and ss no 7 markham along with his teaching career he was a successful farmer mr nichols was an ar dent church worker and served as elder and stew ard at victoria square for many years he taught the adult bible class in the sunday school and for a period was the sup erintendent mr nichols and hattie wellman were united in marriage in june 1907 by rev wesley dean they resided for a short time at victoria square with the grooms parents then moved one lot north in 1914 they took up resi dence at lot 24 mr and mrs nichols celebrated their 50th wedding anni versary in june 1957 mrs nichols predeceased him in december 1960 he is survived by his three children cecil of victoria square vera of toronto and reva mrs douglas gee of rr 2 gormley also 14 grand children and 12 great
