has served on the king township council as well as numer ous committees outside of his municipal responsibili ties mr hodgson is of eng lishscottish descent and a longlife resident of king township as were his pa rents he is 53 years old the son of chris hodgson and annie chamberlain of nobleton he married the former eliza barker of temperanccville in 1936 and they have four child ren beth a university of toronto graduate now mrs wayne mcciciian of pottageville janice an em ployee of the imperial bank of commerce bob a civil engineer and david a student at the university of western ontario mr hodgson has owned and operated his dairy farm in the kcttleby dist rict for the past twenty- nine years he is a former president of district seven milk producers for the past four years he has been chairman of the king township planning board and for the past two years chairman of the court of revisions in the seven mu- nicipalitics of york coun ty he has been a director of york county hospital for some years and a direc tor of the childrens aid society william hodgson enter ed municipal life in 1949 and served a total of thir teen years on the king township council three as a councillor three as dep uty reeve and seven as reeve in 1959 he was elec ted warden of york coun ty mr hodgson has been a longtime member of the york north progressive conservative association and is presently the presi dent of york north provin cial association in 1963 he helped to reelect major lex mackenzie to the pro vincial legislature by act ing as his campaign mana ger his platform mr hodgson is now see king to represent york north as the progressive conservative candidate in the october election and he puts forth the following points in his platform 1 relieve landowners of edu cation costs 2 establish a york north commuter ser vice 3 no change in local government system 4 hard look at any sales tax increase enlarging on these points mr hodgson told the tribune that the main issue is that owners of real estate should be relieved of the major share of pay ing the cost of education special thanksgiving services next sunday at markham um church markham thanks giving sunday evangelistic crusades in many parts of the british isles and europe as repre sentative of the oriental missionary society he has travelled extensively in ca nada the usa and south america mr coles who has serv ed ten years in india is a gifted violinist he has di rected the program of church extension and evan gelism for the oms in india he presents a photo graphic coverage of the ru ral and city evangelistic efforts in which the ind ian pastors are engaged while on furlough in 1962 mr coles completed stud ies and secured a masters degree in new testament at wheaton college gradu- stouffville
