mr jack ithswander of green river staff photo jack nighswander was player with famous green river team green river the community ot green rivet- lost a true friend and a high ly respected native resident in the passing ot mr jack alexander nighswander at his home last week he was stricken during the early hours of thursday morning he had been in declining health for some time but still enjoyed the company of his family and grandchildren on christmas day mr nigh- wander was st k born at green river the son of eii nighswander and annie armstrong he was employed for 27 years at the v g barnes woodworking factory and flour mill north ot the hamlet he then joined the staff at rcesors marmill in markham where he re mained for 29 years until his retirement in 195s he was presented with a power saw at that time which he put to good use in his own shop he also look great pride in his garden of veget ables and lowers one of the best in the area mr nighswander was ev eryones friend and through the years his name became synonymous with the mar- mill firm no amount of in convenience ever seemed to disturb him and he would go to all lengths to please his customers mr nighswander was a member of the famous green river shamrock football loam and a picture of the club that originated in 1911 proudly hangs on the wall in the living room only three of the players remain blake annis
