looking forward to a career in camping in profes sional guide work to teaching or physical instrutcion or they wish to train for volunteer leadership in the movement these are cadets leaders-iii- t raining most cadets have been guides or rangers and must be re commended for training by her guider and by the dist com missioner there are cadet companies however our cadet is a pro vincial cadet and her training is done by correspondence she has ti captain and fellow patrol and company members who might live at great distances each receives a monthly letter containing news of the com pany games to try questions she keeps a scranbook of all the information pertaining to her training she is attached to i a company or pack to practice what she is learning under supervision her uniform is much appleton mrs clara l clara louise appleton wife of edward appleton sheldrake blvd toronto died at the stouffville nursing home on tuesday june 22nd 1965 she was the former clara louise ireland after resting at the trull funeral home 2704 vonge st service was held in the chapel at 2 oclock on thursday with interment in mt pleasant cemetery weatherbee russell wil- lard suddenly at york county marriage will take place saturday july 10 19k5 at 12 oclock in markham gospel chapel markham ontario archie stewart dies suddenly at main st home death came suddenly to mr archie t stewart at his main street home in stouffville on friday evening he had just finished supper when stricken although medical assistance was summoned immediately he failed to respond to treatment he was 70 mr stewart was born near goodwood in uxbridge twp the son of the late william and martha stewart for 35 years he farmed at isabella manitoba returning to glasgow in 194s and later moving to stouffville in 1948 his wife the former marian kelly passed away in november 1960 after taking up permanent residence here mr stewart worked with morley symes and in 1950 joined the mill staff of stiver bros where he re mained for thirteen years he was taken ill last spring and although released from hospital he was never as active again he saw service in world war i and was a member of the stouffville legion he enjoyed playing horseshoes in the town park when his health permitted surviving are three sons ro bert of isabella manitoba garth of islington and murray of stouftville a sister mrs tillie resides in night at the home of mr and mrs lloyd ham lloyd ave the group look the occasion to honour mrs chas nolan who is relin- guishing her position as orga nist after 23 years and mr lome boadway choir leader who has been singing in the choir for fifteen years mr floyd forsyth choir member as well as a member of the offi cial board read a letter of ap preciation to mrs nolan at which time she was also pre sented with a gift and miss ida lehman longstanding member of the choir expressed apprecia tion to mr boadway and pre sented him with a tangible tok en of thanks mr mercer ex pressed the appreciation of all present to the hosts mr and mrs ham and rev a bor land spoke of the cooperation he had enjoyed with both organ ist and choir leader during his two years here as minister the folks
