the brierbush hospital stouffville on tuesday nov 10ih- she was in her 86th year mr and mrs nighswander operated a groc ery store on main street in markham for many years and remained quite active until only a few months before her death she is survived by one son grant and a sister mrs rosella cole there are two grandchil dren and six great grandchild ren one of the longest and most colourful remembrance day parades in siouffvilles history filed down the main street from the service in the veterans hall on sunday afternoon it was led by the caledonia pipe band of oshawa wreaths were placed at the gates to the park by mrs jake hoover representing the ladies auxiliary and mr walt todd president of the lions club at the cenotaph in the park wreaths were laid by mr bert lickorish of the royal ca nadian legion reeve win tim bers of the village of stouffville and mrs floyd fairless repre senting the provincial govern ment two minutes silence was observed an estimated 800 parents and friends attended the annual commencement exercises in the auditorium of the stouffville dist high school on friday night the guest speaker was dr george tatham dean of students at york university he was introduced by staff teacher mr h j waite and thanked by mrs a a gresham principal w e duxbury dedicated the robt mole memoiial plaque in memory of the late robt mole a grade 13 giaduate who died in an accident in august of this year the names of future hon our students will be enscribed on this memorial that will re main in the school in a moving tribute that brought tears to the eyes of many mr duxbury said the staff and students count it an honour to have known robeit for a few years and he will not soon be forgot ten the principal outlined roberts accomplishments dur ing the past five
