ttersday october 24 1963 the stouffvius tribune hg frors mm the editor dear sir after reading about the tra gic accident at pjgwood i felt 1 just had to write this letter the people cf bauantrae had wanted a speed limit through here lor years and i belive even the whitchurch council had tri ed for a 30 mile zone well fin ally we did get a 45 mile speed limit and what have we are love that laundry stouffville coin laundry main st stouffville we any better off we have signs stating max imum speed 45 that is good its what we wanted but what good are signs if there is no one to enforce them why isnt there anyone except when they are called tnis is a provincial highway whv arent these signs enforced we have no parking signs posted in ballantrae since the highway has been finished how many tickets have been handed out enforcing these signs signs put there to make a safer corner signs to protect us one just one ticket that i know of i never did hear if it even got to court or wasnt it worth the bother and paper work to enforce the law which is their job and get paid to do vivian also wants a reduced speed limit for the protection of their children as most of them come home for lunch that means 4 times a day they have to walk on that highway a highway that doesnt seem to be protected from speeders and violaters i just want to say to ringwood and dicksons hill schools will it do them any good will they be any better off who is going to enforce those signs whose job is it are their children going to have any better protection than before thankyou a worried parent 1 963
