eastbound car missed a curve on no 7 ilwy west of cone 9 in the lim its of markham village and rolled over in the ditch dennis nokes cone 7 uxbridge town ship suffeied fatal head in juries when he was thrown out of the auto he was pronounced dead at the scene by coroner john fleming of markham hydro service in the area was cut off when the vehicle snap ped off a transformer pole hyd- 10 employees thieves one man was picked up for questioning he was discovered in a parked car nearby entry was gained to the build ing through a rear door golf clubs and bags were removed from wall racks fngerprints were plainly visible around the lock and their trail through a fence towards isth avenue the names of two prime suspects have been turned over to metro police authorities pc donald dukes and pc bruce findlay are handling the investigation for markham township pc harry heatherington and pc dennis davies of the stouff ville department were also call ed into the case the breakin occurred about 2 am second theft the robbery at the willows club on tuesday marked the second theft in two days at dis trict golf courses on the week end a sum of 5102000 was re moved from the office of mead- conducted on the same site by j l mac kenzie beginning in 1895 and before this early date drugs were handled there by dr row an this month mr harry stouf- fer who has served in this drug store for fifty years retired mr stouffer is one of the best- known clerks in stouffville and worked for the present proprie tors as well as the iboadway family before them the story of mr stouffers retirement connected with the shoe business in stouffville and erie lehman the present proprietor and third generation is announcing along with a number of main street merch ants giant anniversary sales in this issue amos lehman first in the trade was a cobbler in town in 1s92 and six years later he branched into the retail trade with factorymade shoes he purchased the present business block in 1919 having operated his business in a building im mediately east of the firehall prior to that time amos lehman who was reeve of stouffville in 1922 passed away in february 1936 and the business passed to his son orm- sby ormsby lehman conducted the retail shoe business until his death in november 1949 when he was succeeded by his son erie and present owner we cant stop progress in the southwest corner of
