ihcsupt of the brethren in christ mission in rhodesia she also showed her interesting pictures many in this country are watching devel opments in africa in these troubled days there has been some rioting in bulawayo cap ital of rhodesia where the speaker has spent several years the prayers of christians are being offered for a peaceful solution to the many problems and a continued freedom for doughnuts and coffee sirs john pollard of lincoln- ville entertained a few of her relatives to afternoon tea on wednesday this included her great grandmother mrs egbert hunter her grandmother mrs harold hunter and her mother mrs don h hunter of melville three of her aunts mrs ken neil and gerald hunter and mrs coatup and mrs s d pollard were also present mrs wm brown the former ida troxel passed away on fri day morning at the home of her son j elmore brown at stayner in her 87th year she was the wife of the late rev wm brown a former menno- nite minister here surviving are 3 sons rev ed monton in september doctor arkinstall reported that gen eral council had approved the amalgamation of the two wom ens organizations of our church into one to be known as the united church women mrs winterstein voiced the thanks of the association to all who had contributed to the very fine programme and after the closing hymn of thanksgiving airs crouch led in prayer the spirit of the meeting was greatly enhanced by the gorgeous colour of flowers and foliage which beautifully dec orated the sanctuary the gra cious gift of mrs j m storey president of the garrett even ing auxiliary bl death
