perry of vaughan township asked for support of county council for a resolution to this effect saying this com mission would be nonpolitical and because it is appointed and not elected there would be some permanency he suggested the commis sion should make its first re port back to county council at the november session following the presentation of the formal resolution county commissioner clarence davis asked for a standing vote as one body completely in aceord every member of york cortnty council rose to their feet carry ing reeve perrys resolution unanimously york county council in spe cial session tuesday night at newmarket passed a resolution appointing a york county hos pital commission to plan co ordinate and advise on all hos pital matters pertaining to the county of york the commission will include two members of county coun cil the president of each coun ty hospital association a rep resentative of the york county medical society and two citi zens of the county one of whom is to be chairman the members of the commit tee will be named by the york county warden and commis sioners and will report to coun ty council at the november ses sion the action of york county council has been welcomed and highly commended by members of the two york county hos pital associations and they are hopeful that an early start will be made on solving york coun tys critical shortage of hos pital beds the appointment of a county hospital commission was a rec ommendation of the joint hos pital boards in the report sub mitted earlier this year when it was also recommended that work proceed as quickly as pos sible with an addition to the existing york county hospital at newmarket and a new hos pital at or near richmond hill the resolution adopted by the york county council was mov ed by reeve john perry of vau ghan and was as follows resolved that an advisory committee to be known as the york county hospital commis sion be formed to investigate plan coordinate and advise on all hospital matters pertaining to the county of york and that the said commission be composed of a 2 members of county council b the president of each county hospital associa tion c a representative rec ommended by the york county medical society d 2 citizens of york county one of whom to be chairman of the commis sion and one of whom a woman and that the members of such committee be appointed by
