Mr. Raney introdue ed a bill into the Ontario Legislatur, to create a new territorial judicial di tret to be known as the judicial dis to travel as far south as Haile.vburyl, for the transaction of all judicial hu-l siness, apart from police 0mm and division court work. Havidg the (riir) eial centre for all this big north as far south as Haileybury has, meant nl serious loss in time, convenience andi money for all the people of a largel money fur all the people of a large area. The loss and inconvenience have been particularly noticeable lo hllt'll centres tic. Timmins and the towns along: the 'Poreupine. branch of the T. k N. 0., Iruquvis Falls, and Coehrane. To these centres the lack ot' a judicial c.entre nearer than llaileybury has been an unnecessary burden. ‘Some years ago The Advance suggested that the centre for a new judicial district be established an Porquis Junction. The lack'of aeeommodation at that point was of course an ohjeetion, “out by no means an insurmountable one. It is certain that Porquis Junction would have been a more eonvenient centre than Cochrane, but the big re- quirement was recognized to be the establishment of a new judicial dis- trict for this part of the North Land. The hill introduced by the Attorney- General provides for the establishing of a new judicial district, so it is a trims of Temisk: Thunder Bay and the Town of 0th 1mm n 35mg. :1 s bunnda t'Y " W 1't'l tory W IIT been men Pl'nt mu H] Irilllf " V t " teatin n ll Mr ll " 'll res" mat hrane so inimdm ll 1e1'e has be um M r. Timmins started in the N.().F.A. series by pulling a win in the first game on Thursday last, defeating their old-time friendly rivals, the Dome, on the Dome's own grounds, by a score of 5 to 2. The win shows the kind of football team that Tim- mins has this year, for it. takes a good team to beat the Dome at all, a migh- ty good team to beat them with a 5 to 2 score, and a rattling good team to win from them on their own Ill a penalty kick Airy scored the Dame's second and final score, mak- ing the standing at the elose of the game, Timmins 5, Dome 2. The line- up of the teams was as follows:-- Tirnmins--4street, goal; Dalgarno and Roberts, backs; Donalds, G. Coo- per am! A. Cooper, halves; Dunbar, W. F. B. ('adman, M. Carr, A. Cad- man and F. J. Thomas and Goodman. All watching the game were well pleased with the keen football played, and another thing that was specially pleasing was the condition of the grounds. The Donut grounds are in very fine condition and made the best kind of football possible. Mr. R. J. Woods, of Hamilton, spent a. few days in the Camp last week. H m "ls sat ling hm Mrs. J G. H.
