Maxwell will have for his partner Capt. Harry Wilshire, also an experiâ€" eneed pilot, Capt. Maxwell, who has now over three years‘ experience in commercial flying and has so successâ€" fully demonstrated that the rigors of the winter in the North are by no means a deteérrent to®successful fly. ing, is very optimistic with regard to this service out of Cochrane. He is thoroughly imbued with the Northern spirit, and wil throw his whole enerâ€" gy into this scheme to make this flying service a permanrent institution here. The main object of this service wfll be forest reconnaissance and trarsâ€" portation. It is specially expected that a large amount of tourist traffic will be attracted from the middle States owing to the almost virgin fishâ€" ing and hunting grounds of the North. It will do away with the lengthy and ardumous eanoe trips fo reach these goals. In addition, it will certainly encourage prospecting of the Northâ€" érn area which is at present next to imaccessible. / f left early yesterday noon again for Toronmto, expecting toâ€" returnâ€" here early next week. The Laurentide Air Service, with the main station at Lac La Tortue, Que., has undertaken to érect a statioh in ‘Cochrane, where two or three of the new model five, passenger flying yachts will be. used for the flight North. Substations will be erected at Remi Lake and Zadi Lake, the latter on the Opasatika river, and the station here will be equipped with wireless to ‘be run in conjunetion with the air service.s _ The last issue of The Cochrane Post says:â€"The arrangements for the esâ€" tablishment of a regular air service from Cochrane to the remote regions North during the coming Sunmer have now been completed, according to Capt. Maxwell, who arrived from Montreal on Wednesday night and lefft early vesterday noon agzain for AIR SERVICE FOR THE NORTH FROM COCHRANE ‘*Should you agree to do this, the pooling will be accomplished. An open market will be established for Clifton stock. The stock remaining in the treasury will be sold at prices which will enable the management to resume development, and to erect a milling plant for the treatment of. the ore alâ€" ready in sight. ‘By the tiume the pool has expired, the company will have reached a profitable basis, and . the market will have been established at a price wlich will show you a good pro. fit should vyon then desire to sell." Cireulars have been sent to the sharebolders of the Clifton Poreupine Mines Limited asking them to hotd their stock until the end of the year so that a free market may be made for an issue of treasury stock. Some 430, 000 shares have been issued to the puâ€" blie and it is hoped to issue sufficient more to raise $75,000 or $100,000 for the treasury to enable the completion of development work and the erecting of a milling plant. # What is suggested is practically the pooling of the stock now held, so that there will not be interference with the free market of the new stock. This pooling plan is the only practical meâ€" thod known of raising new money in the case of a property in the position of the Clifton. By such a plan staâ€" hbility is secured and prospects made better for the future. Speaking of the plan the cireular says :â€"â€" 3 *‘In our opinion, the stock can be sold quickerâ€"and easier through the listed, open markets. . Working along these lines, we have received tentative assurances of coâ€"operation from good financial interests, provided the share holders will assist to the extent of deâ€" positing their stock certificates with one of Toronto‘s recognized trust com panies until December 31st., 1922.
