The main roads were now in fair shape and a little atâ€" tention and a few timely repairs would be well worth while. Dr. Mc Innis referred to Mr. Dalton repairing specially bad spots in the road at his own expense. A little work in time made a*big difference. ‘The Mayor beâ€" lieved that if the Motor Club could approach the Government\ with the plan of spending a definite amount of money for needed upkeep of the roads the Government would be willing to expend dollar for dollar. The Yformer Government had definitely agreed to follow this plan, but at that time there was no representative body like the Motor Club for the Government to deal with, and the greatest need «for maintenance was in the case of roads in unorganized sections such as down to ~ the" River.. The‘" mnnicipalifies It was suggested that it might he an ad\'aumgeZu, have several subâ€"comâ€" mittees, such as membership commitâ€" tee, roads committee, etc., to help along the purposes of the Motor Club. The appointment of any such commitâ€" tees was left in the hands of the exâ€" ecutive officers. The secretaryâ€"treaâ€" surer was asked to secure application forms, and it was decided to place the advantages‘of the new motor club beâ€" fore all and get as large a membership as possible. It was felt thatâ€"once the situationâ€"was â€"explained every. motor car owner would want to join the club and help the work along. ~Theâ€"Mo‘tor Club will spend as much money as to the River. The: municipalities would also be willing to do their part and thus, the chances would be pretty fair of hfu‘ing_r much better roads.
