O., and the Canadian National Lines through the North we have seen towns spring where forests stood, smiling farms blossom from the clearings, great mines grow from claim stakes, and huge mills converting the virâ€" gin forest into products of the widest usefulâ€" ness. This growth and expansion have attractâ€" ed men of skill, intelligence and courage and the conviction ‘that this Northland is destined to a wonderful future. All we see toâ€"day is a promise, brought by the railways. But I firmâ€" ly hold that the working out of our destiny and the deserved prosperity of the people of Temi= kaming, and ‘their children, depends upon the expansion of railway facilities with regard to mineral enrichment, forest wealth, and soil fertility. 3 The Developmentof Northâ€" ern Ontario by Railways.
