One of ‘the important changes this year is in regard to the open season for partridge. As noted in The Adâ€" vance last week the open season for martridee this vear is from ‘October for partridge. Section 15â€"No person shall disâ€" charge any gun or other fireâ€"arm at any game between sunset and sunrise. This section also prohibits the use of poison, poisoned bait, etc., in game hunting. Section 17â€"No person shall for hire, gain or reward,, or hope thereof, hunt, kill or shoot any game, or emâ€" Section 17â€"No person shall for. hire, gain or reward,, or hope thereof, hunt, kill er shoot any game, or emâ€" Noy, hire or for waluable consideraâ€" on induce any other penson to do so. Section 18 forbids the taking, desâ€" roying or having in possession of the eggs of any game bird at any time. Another section of the Act says that no hotel, restaurant or club shall be in possession of any game except under the authority of a license. Reference is also made to the proâ€" tection of private preserves, trespass in pursuit of game, ete. No person hunting can enter standing grain without the permission of the owner. Owners of land may warn away tresâ€" passers either by verbal or written notice. Signboards at least one foot square on ‘or near the boundary of the land intended to be protected conâ€" taining a notice to the effect that hunt ing or shooting is forbidden is conâ€" sidered by the Act as sufficient warnâ€" ing to trespassers. Another part of the Act deals with tlhe possession, sale and transportaâ€" tion of fish and game. No railway or express company, or other common carrier, and no other person shall transport or receive or have in possession in (Ontario any deer, moose, elk, reindeer, or caribou, or any ‘head, skin or other part thereâ€" of, unless there is attached ithereto one of ‘the shipping coupons belongâ€" ing to a license authorizing ithe shipâ€" per to hunt or kill the same, together with an affidavit of the shipper that the same was lawfully hunted or takâ€" en.
