March 21, at 8 p.m. Horticultural Society To Hold Meeting Monday Registered Music Teachers Hold Monthly Meeting The regular monthly meeting of. the Porcupine Branch of the Ontario Reâ€" gistered Music Teachers Association was held recently at the home of Mrs. G. C. Armitage. The president Miss Glady: R. Dodge, was in the chair. One of the main points Of discusâ€" sion at the meeting was the idea of sponsoring the Department of Eduâ€" cation‘s series. The subject will be gone into more fully at a later date. The new slate of officers were nomâ€" inated and is comprised of, past presiâ€" dent, Mrs. Ron Vary; president, Miss Gladys R. Dodge; vice president, Mrs. J. Tyndall; secretary, Miss Eleanor Burke; treasurer, Miss Mary Zudel; executive committee, Mrs. G. C. Armâ€" itaeg and Mrs. Y. Gauthier. The Society will be celebrating the 25 anniversary of its inception and every effort is being made to have the townsfOolk interested in gardenâ€" ing with whicn to beautify the town. Ladies Guild To Hold Rummage Sale March 26 Three new members were received into the Guild during the month. Motion was made and carried to hold a rummage sale the 26th of Mar. The meeting was then adjourned with a prayer led by the president. At the conclusion of the breakfast, Mrs. Cousintine spoke briefly of the pleasure derived in serving as hostess and president of the Ladies Guild. She then presented to Dean Robinson the annual contribution of the organâ€" ization to the Building Fund. The monthly meeting of St. Matâ€" thew‘s Ladies Guild was beld on Friâ€" day afternoon, March 11. in the Clubâ€" raom of St. Matthew‘s Hall. _ Mrs. J. Cousintine, the president opened the mreting with prayer. There were twentyâ€"four members pregent. The secretary and treaâ€" surer‘s reports were read, and apâ€" proved. . The two main events of the past month were the Valentine Tea and the serving of the Ecout and Guide bangquet. The affair will be held in the Coun cil Chambers. At the close of the business meet: ing, Mrs. Wilson, a Scottish war bride sang two contralto solos for the mem bers accompanied by Mrs. Tyndall. After the devotional hour the memâ€" bers retired to the church hall for breakfast. Grace was said by the Very Reverend Dean Cooper Robinâ€" son. Breakfast was served by Mrs. J. Cousintine, president of the Guild, assisted by Mrs. W. Kevan and Mrs. E. Gill. On receiving the cheque the Dean expressed sincere appreciation of the valuable work accomplished by the Ladies Guild. + With the bright morning sunshine of late winter flooding St. Matthew‘s Church, the St. Matthew‘s . MceIntosh presided at the regular meeting of the Women‘s Inâ€" stitute held yesterday afternoon in the Hollinger Hall. Following the basketball game held in the Sea Cadet Barracks on Saturday night a most enjoyable dance was held by the Sea Cadets and their friends. .
