She will make her headquarters at her cabin on Powell‘s Point in Golden City, and while she may go south in the winter months, her summers she will spend with us close to the friends she has made during her thirty years here. On Wednesday Mr. Percy Andrews acted as chairman. Miss Shaw had been asked to attend a special Board meeting and had no knowledge of the community affair which it proved to be. It was impossible to advertise it beforehand as it would then have been no surprise to the guest of honour. Consequently the hall was not filled as it would have been had everybody in town been apprised Mr. W. Honer, speaking for the Kiâ€" wanis Club, spoke of the similarity between the work of Miss Shaw and the work of the Kiwanis Club, the motto, "We Build," being applicable to both. He commented on the charâ€" acter building she has done. "During her long term of office she has set a high standard, and carried her torch high: and has left her mark, more than any other person has been able to do, on the hundreds that hav> passed through her hands." In conâ€" clusion he asked her to accept a manâ€" tel and electric fireplace for her cabâ€" in from the Kiwanis Club and the Townchip Council, hoping she would have time to relax and enjoy happy memories of the boys and girls who have gone through her hands. Mrs. F. H.
