Special to The Advance. f Two youths, Leslie Rickard ani George MacFayden, were arraigned on a charge of "breaking and entering," and stealing a quantity of cigarettes and chocolates from a store in Schuâ€" macher. Constable Fulton and Sgt. Douglas gave evidence that Rickard was the chief offender and the youngâ€" er boy was put to watch for the police Rickard, who had a record, is under military age, and S. Platus asked the magistrate to give a small sentence give him a chance. This lad‘s parents live in Kingsville. The police gave MacFayden‘s delinquency as the reâ€" sult of not getting on well at home, staying out late and sometimes all night. Rickard was given 6 months in reâ€" formatory with a caution that a penâ€" itentiary term would be in store for him if he came again before the court and MacFPayden 3 months. Mike Bobinac was fined $50 and costs for having "loose coupons‘" in his possesssion. This charge was brougzht by representatives of the W.P.T.B. When Bobinac‘s room was Ssearched by the police coupone â€"2 for gas and 5 for motorcycle gasâ€" were found. Déeâ€" fendant pleaded that he had no use for the gas coupons and those for the motorcycle were not his but had been loaned. Mr. G. Evans in pleading for defendant~ acknowledged that a break of the regulations had been committed but it was not a serious break and asked for leniency. When inflicting the $50 fine the Crown suggested that the coupons while of no use to defendâ€" ant might be offered to be used 1llcg- ally ‘by others. , ! Five Finnish men and one othey, paid $10 and costs for being drink. One, when given the charge by the Magistrate could not understand so another Finn told him.
