Wounded During Action South Porcupine, March 21ist, Special to The Advance. Mrs. Bob ‘Wilson, ‘of Golden. City, received news that her husband, Pte Bob Wilson, had been wounded in action in Holiand, Fcb. 26. Mrs. I. P. Wilson, his mother, has received a letter from him since and he says his hip is fractured but he is progressing favourably. He is in hospital in Belâ€" gium. Pte Wilson joined: the army over two years ago and has served overseas since July. His wife and two children, Donna 5, and Bobby 3, live in Golden City. Pte Bob Wilson‘s brother, Pte Irwin Wilson, served overseas and was woundâ€" ed on the fAifteenth of January. He is visiting in Golden City now on leave from hospital in Camp Borden. Anâ€" other brother, Woodrow, was dischargâ€" ed after serving one month in the army. His two nephews are also in action. Pte Jack Richardson is serving in Holland with the Royal Canadian enâ€" gineers. Pte. Ross Richardson is servâ€" ing‘ in England with the postal corps. Schumacher Public School will hold their Easter exhibition in the school auditorium Wednesday afternoon and evening, March 28th. A short service was conâ€" ducted in the chapel of the S. T. ‘, Walker Puneral Parlour, Timmins, ,lpriox to the body being taken on the l'Northland Friday evening to Bancroft. , The Rev. J. A. Breckenridge, of Trinity Church Schumacher, conductâ€" ,led the service. - Funeral of the Late Gerald Armstrong ‘ of Schumacher The family in Schumacher, and Mr. and Mrs. Cligord Armstrong and Mrs. James Bryce, Kirkland Lake, accompâ€" anied the body to Bancroft. A short service was held at his home there on Monday following which the body was taken to New Carlow for inâ€" terment. The services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. McLauchlin, of the United Church, and Were largely atâ€" tended, many relatives and friends gathering to pay their respects. Parents have the choice of applying for their Family Allowances or not claimâ€" ing the allowance and claiming the full deduction for their children under Income Tax. If they claim the Family Allowance, the amount of deduction from tax allowed for children under the Income War Tax Act will be reduced by the amount of any Family Allowâ€" ance received. Anyone who is uncertain whether or not he or she will benefit from Family Allowances more than from Tax Deduction should register for the Family Allowance and in this way‘ be on the safe side.
