Church, Timmins, has issued a new little newspaper that is of more than passing interest. It bears the title, "St. Matthew‘s Church News," and the first is ue, which The Advance has just reâ€" ceived, jusitifies the title, for the little newspaper has made good coverage of the news of interest to the congreâ€" gation. For thos> who do not know about the Twixters Club, a word of explanation may not be amiss. This explanation is briefly but clearly given in the first issue of St. Matthew‘s Church News, as follows:â€""Now, to introduce Oourâ€" selves in the form of a newlyâ€"organâ€" ized group called the "Twixters‘"‘â€"a contraction of "betwixt,"â€"which serves the dual purpose of defining our principal function, 1e keeping conâ€" Winners of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Canadian Lpgion Whist Drive on Tuesday, were as follows: Ladies;: Mrs. Stenhouse, Mrs. H. Honour Roll of Over 150 Names Being <Published. New Paper Full of News of Church and Affairs "sot Matthew‘s Church News" starts with an appropriate emblematic title page. The design is simple but imâ€" pressive. It is a line drawing by Mr. Frank Huckerby, of the Hollinger. The design is in the form of a tablet, with a sketch of St. Matthew‘s Church inset at the uupper left. Inside the tablet is a large Anglican Church cross with the words, "St. Matthew‘s Church News" superimposed below the arms of the cross. In small letters at the bottom of the design is the name of the new rector of St. Matthew‘s Church, Rev. A. R. Chidwick, L.Th. Four of the ten pages of the first issue of St. Matthew‘s Church News are, given over to names on the honour roll of St. Matthew‘s Church. This lists 104 names of members or adâ€" herents of the church who are serving King and Country and the faith,. There are approximately fifty more of these names to be publihed. For a small church the number of men and women on srvice from St. Matthew‘s is reâ€" markable, Another special feature of the issue is a friendly, genial letter from Reyv. Mr. Chidwick, in which he asks for the friendship of all, knowing that friendâ€" ship and understanding mean COâ€" operation and strength. The news features of St. Matthew‘s Church News cover a wide field and seem to include everything of interest. Space does not allow even the mere mention of all items of news in the issue. Just to name a few, however, may give an idea of the competence of the news coverage:â€"Reâ€"organization of the A.Y.P.A.; meetings of the Men‘s Club; casualties among ‘those on St. Matthew‘s honour roll; District Fireâ€" Congratulations and best wishes are extended to another young couple who took their vows in the Church of Nativity on Tuesday morning ~......
