The matting and track give stability in wet weather so that an aircraft can land without getting bogged. _ On either side of the runways another piece of land is prepared for damaged aircraft to make forced landings. In 1909 they came to Canada with their three sons. It was in 1911 that Mr. Fell:came rorth to a position in ‘thiere Dome Machine Shop, and Mrs. Fell and famlly followâ€" ed in 1913. Although of a retiring disposition she has, during her thirty years heres, made herself beloved by all who knew her. With her husband, the late John Fell, who died on May 23rd, 1940, she has been interested in all good works for the community. Ltterly she has work, ed unceasingly for the Red Cross, and was an active and interested member of the Order of Eastern Star. With her deaith, ancther link with the past is broken, and she will be very much missed in the community more particularly at the Dome, where she has lived since 1913, and is the oldâ€" est resident. She died after a short illness in Porcupine General Hospital. She had been in hospital for a short time with an illness that was not considered very serious, and was contemplating going nhome, as she was progressing well, when the end came quite suddenly.
