The club met to honor one of their members, Dr. G. C. Armitage, who was leaving the next day for the Army headquarters in Toronto. A delicious dinner was enjoyed. The annual Easter Exhibition was held Wednesday in Schumacher Public School. The day being fine the atâ€" tendance excgeded all records. It was veryâ€"gratifying to the principal, Mr. P. A. Boyce, and his staff, to see s many parents and friends attend, and the interest they took in the display of the pupils‘ work. Well they could nSt help feeling amazed for the work was really wonderful. In charge of tht wood wark, and novelty booth were Miss Csornett and Mr. MacDonnell assgistec by the pupils The wood work articics were magazine stands, polished wooa benches, barrows, novelty racks, bread boards, bird houses and many other articles. The novelties were pot holdâ€" ers, needlecaseos and many articles made from pieces of old cloth. Very brisk business was done at this booth. At the house plant table there was a large selection of plants to choose from but they were soon sold out. The "white elsphant" table had a good selection of articles for sale. Notable Exhibit by Schumacher Public School Event a Remarkable One in Every Way. Champion team of the season was that of Miss Pearle Kennedy, with Mrs. Wilson Rayner, Miss Beulah Rayner, Mrs. John Bawtinheimer, and Miss Penny Luxton. This team topped the list of points. Sscond honours have yet to be conâ€" tested between Mrs. Mabel Taylor and Mrs. Velma Fell. ‘The officers were selected for the next season at a meeting held immediately after the banquet, and Miss Beulah Rayner was unanimously elected Presâ€" ident: Mrs. R. The lovely embroidery work and the knitting done by the pupils deserve speâ€" cial mention. Tickets were sold on varous articles which were drawn for at the close of the exhibition. Mr. E. Courter, 120 PFirst Ave., won the doll and wardrobe. The name of the doll was Elaine. Mrs;. E. Monoghan, 92A Second Ave., won the quilt. At the end of the auditorium a shoe sAine stand was erected and for a yery simall sum you could get a nice polish on your shoes. There was a sale of homebaking. The baks table had a lovely selection of pies, cakes and homeâ€"made bread. Thera was a display of pupils‘ work in each class rocm. The teacher was in attendance and was pleased to mees the parents and friends of the pupiis. Movie pictures were shown at interâ€" vals during the afternoon. Mr. W. K. Wylie, assisted by his pupils were in charge of the programme. One o‘ the most notable booths was the war work booth. Mr. P. A. Boyce, Miss Murphy and Miss Dorothy Armâ€" strong were in charge of this booth. Letters from many former pupils now on sorvice were on display each one appreciating the gifts sent from the echool. One item which desorved credâ€" it was a detailed account of how tne money mad> at the last exhibition was spent. Miss A. E. Murphy and her pupns wers in charge of the tea and home baking table. ipe Book for 1943 was in big demand. The ladies al} anxious for new and wartime recipes were eager to buy this book. The book contained sixteen pagâ€" es of good recipes and was sold at a very low price. Mr. Allan Fish and his pupils were the S ball Club Ladies‘ Auxiliary to help the school in their war work. The laqes realized how hard everyone had worked to make this event a success, In the auditorium upstairs small taâ€" bles were nicely arranged and afterâ€" noon tea was served. Another item on display was a cheque Mr. Boyce received that morning tor twonty doilars from the Mcintyre Footâ€" By Special Arrangement Miss Mary Mesich won the cushion.
