Jarvi stated that although he knew where the money was hictâ€" den in the housy>, he had not actually seen the money before his wife left him. The magistrate opined that there could be no theft between husâ€" band and wife. She could have approâ€" priated that money to her own use at any time and not be guilty of theft. Prosecution would have to prove that she intended to desert her husband when she took his money. The W.A. of St. Paul‘s Anglican Church met on Monday at the home of Mrs. Wm. Fairhurst. The members and exâ€"members of the Porcupine Ladies‘ Curling Club held a banquet on Thursday last at the Airâ€" port Hotel as a finishâ€"up of the seaâ€" son‘s activities. Twentyâ€"eight ladies ~partook of a turkey dinner served tastefully in the dining room of the hotel; preceding the dinner with a toast to the King and the National Anthem. After the dinâ€" ner the ladies the lounge to receive the prizes gained by them in the various curling events of the veason. Mrs. R. P. Smith after a short sp>ech in which she congratulated the winners, presented the prizes.
