The "elimination dance" which is a feature of the annual dances, brought together all graduate nurses since the first graduating class of the hospital. Beginning with that year, the earlier graduates were eliminated «until only the 1942 graduates remained to receive the cheers and applause of the large crowd. Then, as each member of the graduating class, wearing gowns in clear white, stepped forward, Dr. Oscar J, Stahl presented her with the gift of the Nurses‘ Alumnae of St. Mary‘s hosâ€" pital, a beautifullyâ€"bound handbook of medicine, also extending good wishes. Henry Kelneck, whose orchestra proâ€" vided suitableâ€" music for all dances, led the gathering in an interesting Paul Jones, and played several special selecâ€" tions among them dedications to Miss Graduates of 1942 Classes are Honoured by Large Crowd at Annual Dance The i1942 graduating class of St. Mary‘s Hospital was honoured at the annual graduation dance on Tuesday evening in the Porcupine Badminton Club, .when graduate nurses, students, doctors, parents, sisters and brothers, and friends joined in wishing success and happiness to the sixteen young ladies who form the largest class ever to graduate from the local hospital Class colours and the words "Graduates 1942" were prominently displayed as a background for the gaiety of the evenâ€" ing, and no detail had been neglected in providing an evening of excellent good time. I extend a most corâ€" dial invitation to all of you to express this well deserved appreciation by joining in the events of Army Week. As Minister of National Defence, I am intenseâ€" ly proud of the men and women in khaki and of the women in Nursging Service blue who are serving Canada. I am sure that Army Week will wind up on Sunday, July Ooth, when the public will be invited to attend church services in Army camps and barracks, and special prayers will be offered for the members of the Armed Forces. On that day, camps will be open to the public and demonstrations and displays of barracks and camps will be arranged. During Army Week, citizens will have an unusual opportunity of seeing the Army at work. Each day has been set aside for some specific purpose. Monday, June 29th, for instance, has been made "Soldier‘s Day" when the public will be invited to send gifts and parcels to the men overseas and when they can entertain the men at dances and other special entertainments. The next day, June 30th, is "Civilians" Day", when clvilians will be asked to prepare meals on a food raâ€" tion system and restaurants will serve meals identical to those served to Canadian soldiers. On Dominion Day there will be garrison parades and special military demonstrations. The 2end, 3rd and 4th of July will equally be devoted to enabling Canadians to learn at first hand various phases of Army acâ€" tivities. Gift Wrapped Beautiful Summer bestfio........
