Much Regret Expressec Departure of Claude Walker from Camp. South Porcupine, May 13th. Special to The Advance. Mr. Claude P. Walker left on Sunday to take a position in Galt: Mrs. Walâ€" ker and his daughters, Dorothy and Mary, having left some weeks ago. Mr. Walker, who has lived in South Porcupine for the past seven years came here from Timmins and previousâ€" ly from Preston. He has proved,himself to be a worthy citizen, being active in Kiwanis and Anglican church work, and will be most definitely missed in our community. We are sorry to see the family go from town. Last Friday, after a KiWahnis Direcâ€" tors meeting a party was staged by friends and Kiwanians at the home ot Kiwanian W. S. Gardinert on Powell avenue and thirtyâ€"odd ‘persons were present to say "Goodbye" to Mr. Walâ€" ker and wish him luck and ‘happiness in his new home. He was presented with a small travellingâ€"bag and brief case, Mr. Alf Pugsley, president of the South Porcupine Kiwanis Club making the presentation. On Sunday morning in‘ t. Pauls‘ Church at the conclusion of the mornâ€" ing service Archdeacon Woodall spoke of the departure of Mr. Walker and mentioned his excellent work. with all branches of Anglican ~@ctivity. . As superintendent of the Sunday school, as vestryman, and lay reader, his serâ€" vices had been steady and faithful and much, valued. He also spoke of the value to the church of Mr. Walker‘s services, when he carried on during the Archdeacon‘s absence for three months due to illness last vear.
