By the time the third was half over the Bisons had piled up their win margin. Bill Lahti got the second Ankerite goal early in the last period as he circled the Hollinger net and slid the rubber into the corner. About halfway through the period Herbie Carnegie slipped over a nice pass to brother Ossie and the Bisons went ahead two goals. It was the most exâ€" pensive gaal of the night, however, as Herbie tumbled to the ice with a twisted knee. f Two minutes later Ossiec Carnegie drilled a hard drive past Tony Horbul, who was replacing Russ Bentley in the Hollinger nets, to bring the Bisons up to even terms again. Clouthier and Herbie Carnegile also counted assists on the play. sending them five points ahead of the Greenshirts. The result left the Greenshirts in the sorry position of having to win all of théir remainding games," The victory was expensive to the Bisons who lost their star centre players, Herbie Carnegie, in the third period. The duskyâ€"skinned playmakâ€" er will be out for the next few days now as a result of twisting his knee again. The loss to the Porkies meant almost cerâ€" tain elimination from the playâ€"Ooffs as the Macs need but one more victory to assure themselves of a playâ€"off spot. The game was never in doubt and only at one stage of the game did the Porkies have an edge. On Monday night he accepted the challenge thrown out by Gauthier and while he was Lrimming him to the tune of 10â€"2 some unknown person stole the trophy from the ice where the game was being played.
