Evans spoke to the audiâ€" ence, first congratulating the chairman on her poise. He spoke of Russia‘s brave stand against the common enâ€" emy of Canada and Russia, and of the need of help now, especially in medical supplies. He pointed out that when the audience came from Russia to Canada they were allowed to keep their cusâ€" toms and their children‘s development was unhampered. Only in a country like Canada, England, or America would this be possible. We have liberty and these boys and girls must be saved from the slavery which would ensue from Hitler‘s rule. Jack O‘Shea was born in Hull, Yorkâ€" shire, England, on Christmas Day, 1912, and by strange coincidence died in Hull, Quebec, just before Christmas His whole life was spent in South Porâ€" cupine where he attended the local schools, and later he took a course in electrical engineering in a Chicazo college. His many friends sincerely mourn his passing in the prime of life, as he was wellâ€"liked by everybody and appeared to have a promising career ahead of him. He leaves to mourn his loss both parents, two brothers, Michael and Patrick, and one sister, Norah (Mrs. H. Belisle). The funeral took place on Monday morning, a solemn requiem mass being held in St. Joachim‘s Church with Rev. Father Roberge as officiating priest. Pallbearers were Messrs Dan A.
