The late Mr. Pearce was known and respected in the whole Porcupne Camp. As a business man his integrity and fair dealing made him one of the foreâ€" most merchants of town. Since 1912 when he took over the store of Charles See, whose original slogan was "Pills and Things,"" Mr. Pearce has carried on the business at the same store; latâ€" terly it has been taken over by his son, Mr. Stanley Pearce, and more recently another branch has been opened on Main St. and managed by his sonâ€"iInâ€" law, Mr. Gordon Cross, He was interested in sports, An ardent curler, it was great grief to him when, three years ago his health preâ€" cluded his taking part in the ancient sport of Scotland: but his original inâ€" terest in the Curling Club continued to the end. He was also interested in fostering hockey â€" especially Juvenile hockey in the camp. But his chief love was for flowers. His own garden was always full of flowers in the summer, and when the Horticultural Show in Golden City was in its prime he acted as one of the jnudges each year and encouraged the growing of flowers in Porcupit Sunday, Monday. mer cott for the ; daying w Stanley | His two summone strokeâ€"a Willia and : â€"â€"GiG( Hospit W.
