Enjoys Weiner Roast Here Last Night Members of the A.Y.P.A. met at the church hall on Wednesday evening, and the group proceeded to hike to the rocks past Toke Street, where they were to have a weiner roast. Despite the cloudy weather, those attending were able to enjoy a pleasant evening outdoors and even when driven inâ€" doors by somewhat unsettled condiâ€" tions, they were able to bring a little of the outdoor atmosphere indooprs while they finished the weiner feast. The Lions Club of the North are holding a zone mceting at Kirkland Lake «on May «18th and it is expected that all the Lions Clubs of the district will be well represented at this meetâ€" ing at Kirkland Lake. Thompson, of Kirkland Lake, and second in command under Col. K. A. Mahaffey, of North Bay, of the Second Battalion of the Algonquin Regiment, has been appointed Adâ€" ministrative officer for Military Dhsâ€" trict No. 2 under Col. W. W. Johnson, recruiting officer for the district, He leaves this week to take up his new duties at North Bay. Major Thompson has had a very creditable military career, having served with distinction in the last war, and invalided homs with wounds. He gave notable service in recent years to the militia and the value of these services has been espeâ€" cially evident since the present war opened. The Guides of the 106th 1.O.D.E.
