The second annual memorial banquet of the Timmins Branch of the Canaâ€" dian Legion was held on Saturday evenâ€" ing in the Legion hall. There was not a very big attendance and the officers of the Ladies‘ Auxiliary who catered for the event also sat with the men at the banquet tables. Two outstanding featuwwes of this event are worthy of mention, the first being the beautiful array of fresh cut garden flowers of every conceivable variety which adornâ€" ed the tables and the other the freshly dug vegetables served, these being donated to the ladies by Com. R. Hardy. All present had great praise for the menu supplied, consisting of roast beef, green peas, carrots and brown gravy, apple pie and coffee, with cheese, rolls and mixed pickles and celery hearts.
