Hamilton, June 20â€"George H. Elson, Toronto, was this afternoon elected Grand Patriarch of the Grand Enâ€" campment of Ontario, 1.0.O.F., when the annual sessions continued at Royal Connaught Hotel. The following were also named to office: A. H. Jack, Kirkâ€" land Lake, Grand Senior Warden; Roy A. Sloat, Brantford, Grand Scribe; E. C. Garbutt, Picton, Grand Treasurer; W. H. As it reached the Air Minister, Sir Kingsley Wood, a Labor member (Mr. Maxton) noticed what was going on, and asked that the contents of the paper should be divulged to the house. The quesâ€" tion was met with a stony silence, since it was out of order. A few minutes later however, Sir William Davidson chose an orthodox method of letting his fellowâ€"parliamentarians know what the paper contained, when, in quesâ€" tioning a Governmental decision, he asked: ‘"Was His Majesty‘s Governâ€" ment influenced by the fact that Blue Peter won the Derby?" Well in this case I think it would be right to say that it was the 6th Timmins that was disappointed, yes sir, and myself! After all the boostâ€" ing that I gave the 2nd Troop they went and let me down. I think it would be better if the sporting news was left to some Scouter that can tell a ball player when he looks at him because I am sure that this is one Scouter who doesn‘t. After the big writeâ€"up I gave the boys last week. It appears that the sixth troop were full of hope for a big game. It proved different though, in a very faint whisper just in case someâ€" Hello Gafig + â€"â€"â€" body was arcund, one of the second Troop boys toid me that the score was 0 runs for the 6th and only 9 for the seâ€" cond troop. However the second tro0op still wants to have a ball game. Who can we trim next? Yours for sports 2nd troop. Last Tuesday 1 visited the Ist pack and watched a very good meeting unâ€" daer the leadership of Akela Stevenson. The boys are going ahead in fine style and they have started work on the costumes for the Palava. It seems that they have found some nine hundred and eleven feathers collected already. That is good work on the part of tge leader on boys to collect so many at this time of the year. To my surprise and great delight, I found that the mothers of this pack are interested in what the boys are doing. As a matter of fact there were several mothers preâ€" sent at the meeting. To leaders who want to see somethinz new I would say visit this pack and see the fine cereâ€" mony that they close with, it is indeed something well worth sesing. Last week I received an invitation to visit the Schumacher troop. This troop is under the leadership of Scouter Sellar and is going ahead in good style This troop will bear some watching as the boys are all eager and going places in a hurry. In the evenings run of games I was asked to take part in on: and let me tell you now that what tests they pass they remember. There is nobody asleep there. I was informed that the Moneta troop 5th has an inâ€" vitation to attend a meeting there on Friday (tomorrow) so as warningz, be on your toés. How many boys are thinking about the hobby show that we hold in March. Now is the time to get out in the bush for nature study. On my way up the river last weekâ€"end I noticed that the trees were growing out and flowers blooming. Now is the time to start collecting all these different tree leaves and pine cones, etc. Might I add that the mosquitoes and flies are about as good as they ever will be, and if you can find a way to preserve these files, etc., it would a most interesting display at our hobby show as everyâ€" body finds something in common with both of these insects. There are three suggestions for next year‘s hobby show. Here is a message from Scouter Wright who is Badge Scout for this district of Timmins. I wish to congratulate the eighteen Scouts who passed the firemen‘s badge. While 75 p.c. was set as a pass, the marks ran from 85 to 985 p.c. This class was put on by Capt. J. Morton and we sincerely appreciate his kindâ€" ness in giving so much of his time and instruction. I hope all Scouts who are anx10us of becoming King Scouts will get in touch with their Scout masters regardâ€" ing future classes. Might I add my congratulations and thanks to all who took part in this work. ALL SCOUTERS please note a meetâ€" ing will be held in the Hollinger Scout hall, on TUESDAY, June 27 at 8.30 p.m. Business to be discussed is important to all so see that all your group is present. Here is the message to all Scouts and Cubs for this week. ‘ Layol ot REHTOM DNA SHEDAEL, YÂ¥ours for Good Hunting, Akela Wheeler, D. C. M.
