However, it was no one of that trio which seored the winning goal on Satâ€" urday night but chunky Len Schreiber, who proved to be his team‘s spark pluz during the match. The Ankarite was called to win Satâ€" urday‘s game â€" hands down. There some who pinned tneir faith in the Coniaurum and a few who reâ€" membered the adage that anything .can happen in a playâ€"off gameâ€"but opinion favoured the Ankerite to win by a fair. if not a good! margin. The first period was scoreless. In the second it was goal for goal until the Ankerite had three and Coniaurum two. Coniaurum tied the score after 16 minutes of play in the third session and held th> Bisons until the final moment 0‘ the gameâ€"when Schreiber was end man on a short passing play in front of the Coniaurum net. Both gcal tenders, Kemp and Paradis were outstanding in the nets. They both were called upon to make extraâ€" ordinary efforts to keep ‘the disc out of their strongholds and they both reâ€" sponded. teams took the ice. The Ankerits deâ€" fenceman has been out for several games. The loss of his sorvices was equalized by the of Cordeck on the Coniaurum lineâ€"up. The Bisons board of strategy shif‘ed Barney Morris back on the defence line and h> stayed there throughout the game. His services in that, his natural position, were equally if not more valuâ€" able t3 his team. He did yeoman serâ€" vice in clcar‘ng Flyer attacks. His place on the front line was filled by Schreibâ€" er. who worked with Fasano and Allan, The game was remarkably free from penalties. Although pretty to watch their cfforts were not productive of a goal, largely due to the clever déefensive work of Jerry Neddow, and Paradis, in the Ankerite goal. The lohg-awaited tying goal cams after 16 minutes of play. Neddow‘s efforts were rewarded when he took a fast pass from Morgan to count and sent the proâ€"Ankerite Timmins fans into waves of cheering. The local aggregation took an early lead over the visiting team but lost it in the second period, which the South End squad ended one goal ahead. In the third period the fast moving South Enders swarmed all over the TP.A. and belaboured Kosick with shots. The Timmins goalie did a good job but was not equal to the blizzard of rubber. Doaran, Perry and Andrews were the best for the South Porcupine squad and it was their efforts that resulted in most of the goals. Timmins storâ€" ers were Kosick, Kalenchuk and Moore. _ Principal failing of the Timmins team was its apparent inability xo play defensive hockey against the repsated raids of the South Enders. ‘Time and iagain the visitors swarmed down into Timmins territory on two and thrée men plays which baffled the local deâ€" fencemen. At the end of a firss period, during which the TP.A. more than held its own, the score was 2 to 1 for the T.P.A. At the end of the second the count was reversed. Four of his team‘s five goals were scored by the canny Pamâ€" cur centre. Throughout the sixty mm- u‘>s his aggressive rushing tactics and smart ice generalship kept the Porkies on the d@efensive for more than half the time. First period ended with each team a goal in the bag. At the end of the second the Dame power plays had put them one up. The count stood at 4 goals to 3. The Pamourites swarmed in the Dome end of the arena in the final session and come out of the melee with a brizht and shining draw. McArthur got the first goal solo after five minutes and forty seconds of the initial period. Mayss shot the puck at Brownlee, who saved and shunted the dise out in front. Before the G@efence cleared the sorrel topped Mcâ€" Arthur was in like a miniature hurriâ€" canse. He picked up the loose gutta percha and banged it past the startled Brownlee. Maki, Lafoley, Taylor and Waon were penalized in the first period, all for minor rule infractions. Dunn put the Dome ahsad early in the second. He counterâ€"checked the puck away from a Pamour player and took it up the ice with Taylor. Faking a pass to Taylor on the opposxte wing, he let go a blistsring drive at the goal. McArthur checkâ€" esd the puck away from a Porky during a Dome rush and split the defence to gso in on Brcwnlee alone and mark another Pamour tally. Two Dome goals followed. Reynolds followed up a rush by Taylor and Maki, and after both had had sho‘s at Bentâ€" ley and the Pamour goalie was sprawl!â€" ed on the ice, he flipped the puck over his body. Nevins was assisted by Reyâ€" nolds in the next goal. He took the redhead‘s pass inside the Pamour blue line and lifted the puck over the goalie as he came out of the net. It was a very workmanlike bit of playing. Continuing as the only Pamour scorâ€" ar, "Red" McArthur nipped one off the Dome lead when he took a pass from Harmon and drilled the puck from well cut. Harmon had previously taken a shot but Brownlee had saved. Marshall, Maki Woon and Fummerâ€" tor wore jugged in the sesond period.
