However, when it caime to putting their money on the line they were giving no odds. There were fifteen penalties during the game and thirceen were served in the first period. Referses Grant and Thomas were hard pressed from the first minute to hold the game under their control. In an alien camp the Porkies wore out to take no punishâ€" ment and the Bisons were giving as they got. In changing lines early in the game the Dome managed to get seven men on the ice at on»e timeâ€"one too nuany. A technical penalty was called for and Nevins was chosen to serve it. Each Team Seemed Aware Gan Plavâ€"offs. Dome Porkiecs won their second cruâ€" cial game against the Buffaloâ€" Ankerite Bisons during the week when they took the Ankerite into camp last night in McIntyre Arena by a score of 5 goals to 3. By the win the Dome, which held the first piace in the league standing for many weeks during the season, established its right to that place at the end of the season. In the last eventful games the Dome has been showing signs of tremendous power. It has beon the hints of that power that has made the wiss gamâ€" blers in the camp take all the Ankerite money they could get, and in some remote cases, even give odds. Last nigth‘s game was not the game it could have been witlh the two top teams in the league meeting. Each team was assured of either first or s@â€" cond place and a position in the play â€" offs and that assurance showed up to some extent in the squads‘ performance on the ice. Dome led two goals to nothing at the end of the first period. At the end of the second Ankerite had added two. equalizing goals and the Porkies kept their lead by scoring another., Final count was five goals to three. Big Arvi Maki got the first of a total of twentyâ€"nine penalties for both teams. He was sent off the ice for bodying Hughie Allan. A power play put Anâ€" kerite close to the. seoring mark but that ended when Bill Maki was sent off for tripping. Before long Bill Maki and Pilotte were both sent off for an embryonic altercation in midâ€"ice. Kemp in the Ankerite goal, gave a good exhibition of how his posision should be played when he stopped shots by Nevins, Maki and Reynolds when all three were inâ€" side the defence and in on the goal. Schreiber got a major penalty for slashing Woon across the head with his stick. The apparently deliberate asâ€" sault drew a five minute term. During the time he was off Bill Maki skated in close, clipped Taylor‘s reâ€" bound and rifled it into the net for the first goalâ€"for the Dome. Zuke and McCann were penalized for a bunping contest and the second goal was scored while Ankerite was two men short and a Dome man was Off the ice. Woon went in alone to get past Kemp‘s guard with a fast, short shot. Dome opened the second with two men in the penalty box and an Anâ€" kerite offensive did all but seore. It was only the good work of Brownlee in the nets that managed to keop the dise on the outside.. . Taylor and Dunn also did good work in clearing the puck away from the front of the net. First goal in the second came after thirteen minutes of play. Auke, Anâ€" kerite defenceman, followed a power drive in on the Donft nets and drove Laflamme‘s rebound past the goalâ€" tender.. Less than a minute later Patâ€" terson tied up the score when he pickâ€" ed up a loose puck inside the blue line and skated in to score. Dome was still short handed at the time. FPinal minutes of the second. were slowed up considerably when neither team seemed to be making any desperâ€" are efforts to score. Players seemed content to pass to one another. They apparently enjoyed it but the fans got no enjoyment. Patterson went in on the net early in the final period and very nearly beat Brownlee to the punch. In retaliation he was dumped by big Arvi Maki. Maki went off. When Woon was penâ€" alized for dumping Allen shortly after the Dome played two men short. Penalties came in quick succession. Among the elitte who watched the game from the penaltybox were Arvi Maki, again, Kerr, Huggins, Allan, Bill Maki, Reynolds.
