The stove was upset, when Finâ€" lay threw his wife out of the way. The men went outside, and Mrs. Finlay securcd a gun in the house and going to the door shot at him in her fury over the quarel. Finlay swung around to protect the younger woman and reâ€" ceived the contents of the gun in the shoulder, the bullet passing through both lungs. The boarder fled from the houvse when he saw the quarrel in proâ€" gress. This bearfer was held in jail as a material witness, being unable to give bonds. Temn years ago all were sorry to know that Fire Chief A. Borland was laid up with an injured foot, and all wished him a very speedy and complete reâ€" covery. In stepping over some ice he hurt his foot the other day, but did not pay any attention to it until he found that he had ruptured a blood vessel in his instep. Ten years ago, No. 47, the Toronto train was late every night for a week, the delay in some cases running into several hours. The Gdelay in No. 47 reachingz here was due to washouts on the C.N.R. linse in the Huntsville disâ€" trict, where thes track was so badly Jamazed by floods that it could not be repaired to carry the train through.
