So at Kirkland Lake. it is Inspector Pinegar now. There is no change in the duties of the office. however. but the change is just one of those fashions that spring up every once in a while. The title of Deputy Chief at Timmins was abolished some time ago. the officer here being known as Detective Inspector. other at Connaught. In the prelimin- ary meetings both organizations have been given the use or the Legion hall here for their meetings it‘ so desired. It has been felt for a considerable time that these branches should be formed to take care of the ex-service- men in the growing parts of the camp and it is conï¬dently expected that next year the Porcupine camp will have at least two legion branches and perhaps three. With promptness and despatcn the nominations for the second time were carried through and at the present standing there are seven nominated for president and for the executive so large a number that this paper lost track of the count. but the full list of those standing for office and to be voted upon will be published before the election takes place.
