The regular weekly meeting was hcold in the Dome Community hall on Friâ€" day, September 1l1th. Pack meeting opened with the Grand Howl, Akela, the Old Wolf, leading the Pack in a new demonstraâ€" tion of this most important ceremony. Akela explained that when the Cubs respond with "DOQB, DOB, DOB, DOB," it means "we‘ll do our best," not only for Akela, but for mother, father, and every‘ne. It is a promise and all Cubs are expected to do their best. A lively game of basketball was playâ€" ed before going into Six corners to mark attendance and dues. A playâ€"acting game followed. Tw Cubs played at being manager and clerk of a grocery store, and cleverly demonâ€" strated the actions in pantomime. A serious argument between them resulted in the manager evicting his clerk in no gentle way. During campfire, Akela invested thc'; fol Cubs with Jungle names. The Cubs asâ€" | ... . | Fi1 sume these when entering the Cub| Jungle. Some of these names are given | the now and others will be printed later:â€"| Zat Kaa (the python),. The Cubs have been working at theit | pa Six Boxes and hope to have them all at complete next meeting. I me Two young men giving their place of residence as Toronto were arraigned on a charge of theft from a motor car on the highway. Evidence was that a stolen car (owner from Ansonville in court) was left in the dittch on the Timmins highway, and these two boys were caught in the act of transferripg several parts of the car to their own car. The older lad pleaded guilty to taking a tire but the younger pleaded not guilty. The license and driver‘s perâ€" mit of the stolen car were found on the lads, and tools, etc. In spite of an appeal for leniency, from the older deâ€" fendant who said he thought somebody else would get these things eventually and the abandoned car would be covâ€" ered by insurance, the judge sentenced both to 30 days‘ hard labour. Domestic trouble of a couple on Goldâ€" en avenue took up much time. In the course of arguments rocks were thrown through windows and threats made, it was said. After good advice to the prisoner who was much upset, the magâ€" istrate dismissed the case. This meeting ended the Cub career of Jimmie Jamiesonâ€"not a sad ending â€"because the end of Cubbing means t! beginning ~f Scouting. At the "goingâ€" up" ceremony, Jimmie said farewell to the Wolf Cub Pack. who in turn wished him "good hunting" and gave him the Pack Howl. Akela gave him the Scout handshake and expressed the hope he might some time return to help with the Pack. He then introducâ€" ed him to Scouter Andrew, who welâ€" comed him into the Scout KHorseshoe while the Troop stood at "Alert." Jimmie will be missed in the Pack as he was a regular Cub, and acted as Senior Sixer during Gino Campagnola‘s absence. Another case of assault concerning concession lines with regard to farms was also dismissed. Police Court News Two speeders paid $10 and costs on Tuesday here in court. A summons for speeding was not served. Two drunks paid the usual.
