Mrs. Purdy‘s Sunday School class of thirteen girls met to honour their leadâ€" er who has done so much good work ‘among themâ€"for the past five years. In an address presented by Jean Andrews | they thanked her for her kindness and |patient effort and guidance during the last five years and offered her a silver hot water pitcher in tangible apprecia â€" tion of the same. Mrs. Purdy htanked the girls for their gift and was much ’ affected by the love and affection shown | her. She has been a wonderful worker among thte girls of the United Church, not only in Sunday School work but ini CGIL.T. work and Y.PS. work also. Last year she had the gratification of seeing a group of ten of her girls enter the church as members. It is quiet unassuyring workers like Mrs. Purdy that are the backbone of a community. ’ Mr. Doug Leiterman, of the Dome, |left on Friday to go to Scout camp at §Settercaim near Ottawa where he will take the second part of the Akela llcubma.ster) co:rse, His place with the Dome Cubs will be taken at the Jamboree by Vernon Andrew. These ladies are on a tour of inspection of the North, and in an interview with Madam Routledge she wished it to be known how very pleased she is with all the work in connection with the movement that she has seen all over the North.
