Lovering, which occurred Friday when the Hydro pole on which he was working crashed to the ground, was due to the hole in the rock being drilled too deeply to permit the wedgâ€" ing device to hold the pole, was brought in at the inquest held in the court house here Monday evening, Coroner W. J. Grummett presiding. ; Enquiry into Death of Lineâ€" man for Hydro Results in Suggestions for Safety. The jury visited the scene of the fatality, near Monteith at eleven o‘clock at night, and found upon examining the device that the pole, which was set on top of rock, was secured to the rock by means of an anchorâ€"bolt driven over a wedge set in the drilled hole, a twoâ€" band collar around the hole being boltâ€" ed to the anchor bolt. measâ€" urements of the hole in the rock and the anchor bolt they came to the conâ€" clusion the hole was too deep to hold the wedge against the slit in the botâ€" tom of the anchor bolt as it was driven down. They examined other similar instalâ€" lations in the locality and in their verdict recommended that in such inâ€" stallations two mounts with two bolts in each be used and that until such time as permanent guys are erected in such installations, that rope guys ‘be used whenever a man is working on the pole. Witnesses testified as to the effiâ€" Look At It This Way! A retail store regards itself as being a public servant. Therefore, it is wholly fitting that it should try to be the best and most eager servant possible. A retail store which hides itself from those whom it wants to employ it becomes underâ€" employed, and so its sales decline. The public inclines in largest numbers toward those stores which seek its attention and custom. It takes the advertising store at its own valuâ€" ation. It likes to do business with those who manifest eagerness to serve it. It likes to buy at those stores which have to renew their stocks frequently. Advertising is just communciating news and information about one‘s store and service. It is just a form of talking. It is those who talk who are listened to. Silent stores lose out to stores which carry on conversationsâ€"in the form of newspaper advertisementsâ€"with those whose custom they want. Any retailer who wants to get more customers â€"for the replacement of customers who became lost to him and for the expansion of his business â€"can surely get them by making his store imâ€" portant in their eyes, and ‘by putting in his advertisements the kind of information which will help buyers come to decisions. Our newspaper‘s advertising department is ever willing to help retailers prepare the right kind of advertisementsâ€"free assistance, of course. ciency of the type of mounting used and told how Lovering had been about 40 feet up the 45 foot pole, fastening crossâ€"arms, when, without warning, the bolt pulled from the rock, precipitating the pole on which Lovering was strapâ€" ped, to the ground, several feet Gelow the level of the rock. He was rushed to the Anson General hospital where it was found he had already died. A wife and four children survive at Coldâ€" wattr, Ont. Lovering had been with the Hydro only three weeks.
