Children betwseen the ages of nine months and six years should all ‘be inoculated to prev ontf diphtheria. The inuoculation is sa‘%e, I harmless and lasting. It gives lifeâ€" long! ‘immunity from the disease. This has been proven in scores of towns and |cities where diphtheria, once common \in these places, has become a rarity following the proper use of inoculation. The case is proved in Timmins, where | there has been practically no diphtheria cases for years, though the towns simiâ€" t larly situated pay heavy toll in s1ck-! ! ness and death to diphtheria. Inocuâ€" lation here has done much. It can do more. All the doctors, nurses and cthers concerned are giving the greatest possible measure of coâ€"operation. lparents will also coâ€"operate to the Ifullest extent, diphtheria will be fully |conquered so far as Timmins is conâ€"| cerned. This week the board of health has issued, through the town nurses, eccnsent cards for parents to sign in cases of school children who need the protection of inoculation against diphâ€"| theria. The prompt signing and re-! \turning of these cards will help a lot.l Notices have also been sent amound town in regard to the inoculation of | children of preâ€"school age on Thursâ€" day and Friday, Oct. 3rd and 4th, beâ€" ‘tween the hours of 3 and 4 o‘clock. Again the local board of health, the Medical Health Officer, the local mediâ€" cal men and the town nurses are asking the full coâ€"operation of the public in the battle against diphtheria. Again anncuncemment is made that children going to schcol may receive free inocuâ€" lation from diphtheria if parents or guardians will sign the consent cards now being sent out. Children of preâ€" school age may also secure free inocuâ€" lation for diphtheria at the clinic, 28 Fifth avenue, on Thursday and Friday afternoons, Oct. 3rd and 4th, between 3 and 4 o‘clock. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Bennet, served a very tasty lunch, during which Mrs. Forrester carried off the honours for tea drinking. It‘s an old English custom? No, it‘s a gift!
