Peter Heenâ€" an in regard to the Transâ€"Canada highway work in the North. The protest is based on the fact that attempt is being made to have it appear that the Dominion Government is holding back work on the Transâ€"Canada highway and other road work. The truth, as the Northern Ontario Associated Boards see it, is that the Dominicn simply reâ€" fuses to contribute tb the route along the north shore of the Superior, beâ€" lieving that such a route is impracâ€" tical and so costly as to be prohibitive. The Associated Boards agree with the latter opinion on the route selected by the Ontario Government and believe it would be a waste of money to attempt such ‘a route. Formal protest in the matter was sent to both Frovincia! and Deominion Government heads this morning. All citizens are urged to help comâ€" plete the success of the day by putting out flags before business places and homes and decorating generally. * President Austin Neame, of the Leâ€" gion, Mayor R.
