S. Jamieson, was painfully though not seriously injured when knocked down by a car at the corner of Pine street and Third avenue on Saturday about 4.30 pm. The youngster and her sister were walking across the intersection with Miss Amy Long, niece of Mr. Jamieson, when just as the traffic started â€" Elizabeth dashed suddenly across the road. She ran in the path Timmins Lacrosse Team Again to the Forefront Bill Morris, manager and coach of the Timmins Lacrosse Club, who for the past three years has made such a valiant effort to make lacrosse come back in the camp, informs The Adâ€" vance this week that owing to injury to his right hand he has been comâ€" pelled to resign from active conduct of the club. He does not, however, inâ€" tend that this Canadian game should be dropped here. He has handed over the management to Bill Arundell and Samuel Porter, and at the same time has arranged for uniforms and the necessary equipment to make the game a big success. Mr. Morris says he is gtill with the boys and wishes them the best of luck, though unable to take active pat as heretofore. A couple of months ago he had his hand crushâ€" ed while at work and the injury has resulted in the hand failing up to date to regain its usefulness. of a car driven by Brian Hamilton, taxi driver, and though he made every possible effort to avoid hitting the child, the little girl was knocked down and sustained a cut over the right eye and also had a severe cut on one ear. Constable M. J. Gilligan, directing traffic at this busy corner for the busy times of Fair weeks, carried the child to the sidewalk and Dr. Murtagh was called. After being taken to the docâ€" tor‘s office the youngster had her inâ€" juries treated and was able later to return home. She will suffer no perâ€" manent injury from the accident.
