With this in mind, any person wishing to learn what this vast organization has accomplished for the returned men and their dependents will be given the facts at the Legion information bouth. â€" The booth will afford a good chance to those wishing to join the Legion in Timmins. and the advice is given to come and enjoy the fun of the carnival and when in the height of good humour, visit the information booth and leave your Two IDollars. *You will never regret it! : Making Good For a very considerable time several exâ€"servicemen had established themâ€" iselves in a camp, just on the outskirts iof the town. There had been much ‘comment as to why the Legion was enâ€" 'couraging â€"these men to aroungd. _ One of the officers of the Legion relief fund, being a good reader of a man‘s character, offten used the remark;â€" "Give any one of them‘a chance and he‘ll make good." Sometimes existing on frugal meals during the winter raonths the men hung on with the hopes of getting a break. When spring arâ€" rived they secured odd jubs, taking off screen windows, etc. and their calls to the Legion relief fund became iess and less, â€" Good weather broke and came the sunlight to these men. One secured a job to build a house; he got his pals of the long winter hours to help him. The house has been finished and the result of the labour has been such that they now have three more to erect. They are making good. This episode does not finish at that point. Having occasion to secure little food they asked for assistance which was A Good Chance Severall prospective| membersl have made the excuse of not jolnlnz the Legion, something like the following:â€" They never see anyone who has a form®; |they would like a few more particulars; and other similar expréessions. A good chance affords itself during the comâ€" ing week. It has been decided that ‘an information booth be established on the athletic grounds in connection with the visit here of Conklin‘s Shows. The writer of thls weekly feature will be in charge and will gladly give any desired information to any exâ€"serviceman reâ€" garding the activities of the Canadian Legion.. The policy of "no waiting" will be followed for those filling out the necessary forms, as all will be iniâ€" tiated on Monday, June 19th. The booth will be available every night after 7.30 p.m. and will be displayed in an attractive manner. Some citizens may wish to investigate the Legion relief work; facts and figures will be on hand to prove that this worthy work is being conscientiously carried out. Relatives of those passed away may wish inforâ€" mation regarding the Legion plan for begutifying the graves at the cemetery sf returned soldiers. Also there may be some lying there of whom the Leâ€" gion has no knowledge.
