Those who have seen it in action have been so delighted with the remarkable features of the machineâ€"its speed, smoothness, and ingenuityâ€"and many have evidenced an interest in this new addition to the equipment of The Advance, that plans have been made to give all who care to see the machine in action an opportunity to do so. It may be noted that on account of its speed and completeness it is in active operhtion only a few hours per week, and part of that time during the last minute hustle of getting the paper from the press to the subâ€" seriber, a time when visitors would have no room or opportunity to really watch the press. When it is remembered that close to a hundred newsboys and girls are cluttered round the building waiting for their papers on Thursday, it is easy to see that it would be an inopportune time for visitors to view the press. Part of the paper is printed on Tuesday, however, and when the press is running on Tuesday is the best time to view it. Accordingly, arrangements have been made for friends of The Advance to see this fine press in operation on Tuesday afternoon Accordingly, arr: Advance to see this s year to put no n more families back is wOrking a: largely â€" decide u Jeople VAaAI iT ild indic cheme but out q t with ue tha Trouble When successful xXcep sessions ( This plan ; Bi You Are Invited to Come and See it Working on Tuesday, April 18th ndfd 1 n with the thness, and his new ad aive been m: Unempl O 7ME PORCUPINE ADVANCE, TTMMINS, ONTARIO 1} ANSONVILLE HAS RESUMED PAYMENTS ON RELIEF AGAIN n in arrears to carry on the relief ac ienced inemp wvallowe men up i1 1 rom hip of Calvert has again ) provide direct relief to ed. It required a whole freight car to bring it here. One casting alone in the press weighs 2,500 lbs. _ It prints eight pages at the one time at a speed of around 3,500 complete copies per hour, folded ready for delivery. The press prints a roll of paper. This roll is four pages wide and weighs about 1,000 lbs. It may be noted that 5,000 complete copies of The Advance (two sections of eight pages each) can be printed from the one roll. Some months ago when the press was first installed The Adâ€" vance gave a description of the press and its operation together with the suggestion that an invitation would be extended to readers of The Advance at a later date to come in and see the press in actual operation. Here is the invitation. _ All will be welcome to see the Duplex press at its speedy work of printing and folding on Tuesday next, from 4 to 5 p.m. and from 8 to 9 p.m. next, April 18th, from 4 to 5 in the afternoc the evening.
